DUKBOONEENAE

Location:

Seoul, South Korea

Size

1,100 sqft

Type:

Hospitality | Restaurant

Located along one of Seoul’s older neighborhood streets, the restaurant reinterprets the familiarity of a traditional Korean fried chicken house through a darker, more restrained lens. Rather than leaning into nostalgia, the space is defined by contrast—deep black surfaces, exposed textures, and a deliberately compressed atmosphere that feels almost cinematic. Stainless steel, worn leather, and aged materials layer against the glow of warm kitchen light, creating a tension between refinement and grit. The result is less about spectacle than presence: a dining space that feels unapologetically local, shaped as much by attitude as by appetite.
